ATP Cup Launches 2022 Season

We're back in Australia for the start of the 2022 ATP Tour season!

Daniil Medvedev leads defending champion Russia at the ATP Cup, which is in full swing after getting underway on New Year's Day in Sydney. Russia is in the same group as Australia, France and an Italian team featuring Top 10 stars Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner.

“Last year was amazing for Russian tennis in general…and I think that's what can, again, help us a lot this week because everybody is expecting us to do well," Medvedev said. "I mean, usually, you know, I like this kind of pressure. It makes you play better.”

Week 1 on the 2022 calendar also includes a pair of ATP 250 tournaments in Adelaide and Melbourne. Gael Monfils is the top seed at the Adelaide International 1, while Rafael Nadal makes his return at the Melbourne Summer Set.
