Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic: Day 7 Evening

Curling Comments from Team GB's Bruce Mouat after his men's curling rink of Hammy McMillan Jr, Bobby Lammie and Grant Hardie beat Norway 8-3 in their third round robin match. Earlier in the day they had narrowly lost 9-7 to the USA. Team Mouat have a day off tomorrow and then are back in action on Sunday against both China and Denmark. Bruce Mouat Age: 27 Hometown: Stirling On the performance "They are really good side but we're playing really well and that was clinical, and it was important to bounce back from the defeat to the USA. "This was a really important game for ironing out the kinks in our game, all four of us were firing on all cylinders and that really gives us some momentum. "We controlled the game from the start and established ourselves, we were pretty relentless and never gave up." On having a day off tomorrow "I'm looking forward to a day off and a long lie in and then we can focus on our game on Sunday." On the steal of two points in the fourth end "We took on a tough shot there and it came off. It didn't win us the game but it gave us the advantage." Skeleton Comments from Team GB's Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt after the conclusion of the men's skeleton at the Yanqing National Sliding Centre. After four runs, Weston finished 15th and Wyatt took 16th. Matt Weston Age: 24 Hometown: Tunbridge Wells Result: 15th On the result "It's disappointing, I'm not happy with where I finished and I think we can do a lot better as sliders. "But it's one to go away and review - I can't put my finger on why it went wrong at the moment but it's one to review and we will come back stronger from it." On where it could have gone wrong "For one, I didn't slide very well. I think there were a lot of mistakes in my runs which cost me a lot of time, so that's definitely one. "It's going to be a different combination of things, including set-up and the processes we went through. It's a combination of everything." On it feeling different at the Olympics "I can't lie, on my first run I was a bit more nervous than normal but I definitely settled down into the competition after that. "You are racing against the same people week in week out in the World Cup and here. So, once you get into the flow of it, it's like a normal race." On mood in village among Team GB "I think we've probably found what the mood is going to be like, we're not jumping around and cheering. "We are certainly not where we want to be but at the same time we are trying to enjoy the whole experience and make the most of being at an Olympics. "Now I can call myself an Olympian - that's a lifelong dream, so it can't all be too bad." Marcus Wyatt Age: 30 Hometown: Bristol Result: 16th On the race "It has been a really tough year for me from the get go, I've really struggled this year. "I came out here and it was a little bit similar but I'm really proud of how I came out here today to get my two best runs. "I'm proud of how it went today but ultimately where I'm sat is not what I came here aiming for. "We will go home, we will review like we would anyway and I don't doubt we will bounce back stronger." On the future "I hadn't planned to retire! I don't like leaving like this, this is not where I wanted to be. "Maybe there's a little bit more fire in the belly because I know I can come back and do better so four years time hopefully, that's the objective." On people tuning in who don't normally watch "We don't think that we are that crazy, but I'm sure we are crazy enough to know we must be a little bit. "There are other sports like the luge, downhill skiers - those are the guys that are really nuts. "You learn with this sport, it's terrifying to begin with but it is all just part of the day job after a year or so."
