As the Milan–Cortina Winter Paralympic Games draw ever closer, ParalympicsGB has announced the final 12 athletes for the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics, completing the full 25-strong team. The Games will take place in Italy from 6 to 15 March. British Winter Paralympic legends will once again lead the charge.
This latest selection brings notable highlights: Nina Sparks becomes the first British female Paralympic snowboarder, while David Zeff is believed to be the first snow-sport athlete with motor neurone disease to compete on the Winter Paralympic stage.
Six-time Paralympic medallist Menna Fitzpatrick has completed her comeback from injury and will again partner guide Katie Guest in Cortina d’Ampezzo. She made her Paralympic debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games, making this her third appearance.
Snowboard rising star Sparks arrives in strong form after claiming bronze at the Steamboat Snowboard World Cup. Edinburgh athlete Zeff has reached the Europa Cup podium multiple times this season and continues to raise funds and awareness for MND research.
The squad also features fresh young talent: 16-year-old Dom Allen, 18-year-old Hester Poole and 19-year-old Sam Cousins will all make their Paralympic debuts, while former decathlete Fred Warburton earns selection following rapid progress.
Chef de Mission Phil Smith said the 25-athlete delegation is now fully in place. With Milan–Cortina fast approaching, ParalympicsGB has officially entered the final sprint phase.
