In his third ATP Tour final, Daniel Evans defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime to claim his maiden tour-level crown on Sunday at the Murray River Open. The 30-year-old, who failed to convert three championship points in his second ATP Tour final at the 2019 Delray Beach Open by VITACOST.com, did not drop a set throughout the week in Melbourne. En route to the title, Evans beat two of the ATP 250 event's top four seeds. Alongside his final victory against third seed Auger-Aliassime, the World No. 33 also defeated fourth seed Borna Coric in the quarter-finals. “I didn't play great in the first two rounds… I didn't feel great at all. Hanging in, I found my level in the end and here we are," said Evans. "I played good tennis [in] the past three matches, probably some of the best stuff I've played.”
