During the preparations for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) launched the “I’mPOSSIBLE” education programme across Italy, with more than 28,000 students from over 350 schools taking part, covering more than 1,400 classes.
The programme was jointly introduced in 2025 by the Fondazione Milano-Cortina 2026 and Procter & Gamble (P&G), a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner. It aims to help students aged six to 18 better understand Paralympic sport, inclusion, and the positive impact sport can have on society, while also providing teachers with practical guidance on inclusive physical education.
A closing event was recently held at a primary school in Cortina d’Ampezzo, attended by around 140 pupils. Two-time Paralympian and Italian Para swimming star Carlotta Gilli shared her personal journey in sport, encouraging students to learn respect and equality through sport.
IPC President Andrew Parsons said that educating the next generation about sport and inclusion helps break down barriers faced by people with disabilities, and will remain an important social legacy of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games.
