There were some high scoring games in the Premier League this weekend starting with newly crowned champions Manchester City away at Newcastle. An entertaining first half ended 2-2 but Newcastle went ahead through Willock but Ferran Torres completed a hat trick to make it 4-3 for Manchester City.

Burnley entertained Leeds and fell apart in the second half. Trailing 1-0 at the break they were exposed by Leeds attacking flair and fitness losing 4-0. Rodrigo getting the last two goals

The high scoring continued with Southampton defeating relegated Fulham by 3-1. The only bright spot for Fulham was Carvalho scoring his first goal. Brighton entertained West Ham United who were looking for three points to get them in the Champions League spots. All looked lost when Danny Welbeck scored for Brighton with six minutes remaining but Benrahma equalised three minutes later. The last three minutes saw West Ham searching for the winner. It was not to be and West Ham remain 5 points behind Chelsea who occupy the last Champions League place with two games remaining.

The high scoring continued on Sunday with Crystal Palace coming back from behind twice to beat Aston Vill a 3-2 . Tyrick Mitchell grabbing the winner in the 84th minute.

Tottenham had to beat Wolverhampton if they were to keep hopes of European qualification alive and they did just that winning by 2-0 with goals from Kane and Tanganga. Tottenham are now in sixth spot with 59 points but a superior goal difference to West Ham. Liverpool, two points above Tottenham played already relegated West Bromwich Albion without Diego Jota who has been a talisman for the club since his arrival . West Brom took the lead when Robson-Kanu, who had not started a Premier League game since 2017 slotted the ball home after 15 minutes. This was cancelled out by a Salah equaliser. In the second half Liverpool kept pushing knowing a point was not going to be enough and in the fifth minute of added time goalkeeper Becker came up to add his presence in the penalty area as the corner was taken and he scored with a great header to give Liverpool all three points.

The last game of the day saw relegated Sheffield United regain some pride with a 1-0 away victory at Everton. Seventeen year old Daniel Jebbison scoring the goal after seven minutes.

In the FA Cup final Leicester defeated Chelsea by 1-0 to lift the trophy . Tielemans scoring a fine goal to settle the game.

In Spain, the title will be settled on the final day as Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both won the penultimate game.
