Jannik Sinner lifted the trophy again in Turin, defeating World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets to capture his second consecutive ATP Finals crown, along with a staggering $5.07 million in prize money. He did not drop a single set throughout the event, was broken only once, extended his tournament winning streak to 10 matches and 20 sets, and pushed his indoor winning streak to 30 straight matches.
This victory brings Sinner’s “Big Titles” (Grand Slams, ATP Finals, ATP Masters 1000, Olympic singles gold) total to 11, closing the gap to Alcaraz to just three. The two split all four Grand Slam titles and the ATP Finals this season, forming the most electrifying rivalry of the new generation. At 24, Sinner becomes only the third player—after John McEnroe and Boris Becker—to win multiple ATP Finals titles on home soil, and one of just nine men in history to win the event in consecutive years.
Alcaraz, battling with his right leg taped, fought to the end but faltered on a few key points. On match point, his backhand drifted wide, and Sinner collapsed onto his back in celebration before sharing a long embrace with his rival at the net. The two young champions each claimed two Grand Slam titles this year, fierce competitors yet full of mutual respect. Sinner said afterward that Alcaraz is “always the one I’d choose as World No. 1,” while Alcaraz praised Sinner as “a guy who hasn’t lost indoors in two years—unbelievable.”
Despite the loss, Alcaraz has secured the year-end No. 1 ranking. For Sinner, the victory—following his Paris Masters triumph—completes a brilliant season with back-to-back Big Titles and sets the stage for even more explosive showdowns between the two in the years ahead.
