Dan Houser’s Absurd Ventures Press has successfully acquired the English-language publishing rights for the German fantasy bestseller series Stormfell Academy! This means that the German fantasy world, which has sold over 2 million copies worldwide, is soon to appear on bookshelves for readers in the UK and the US.
Torsten Weitze, one of Germany’s most popular fantasy authors, is known for his gripping adventure stories and loyal readership. The first book in the series, The Beggar’s Tower, follows the protagonist Nilly, who, penniless, unexpectedly enters the prestigious Stormfell Academy. She navigates a world filled with conspiracies, trials, and forbidden magic, striving to survive and leaving a legendary mark. The second installment, The Golden Tower, is scheduled for publication this November, with four more books in the series already under contract.
Dan Houser said:
“We have always focused on creating rich fantasy worlds and vivid characters. Torsten’s work aligns perfectly with our vision, and his loyal readership is impressive. We can’t wait for English-speaking readers to experience this exciting world.”
Torsten Weitze himself expressed his excitement:
“Joining Absurd Ventures Press and bringing Stormfell Academy to English readers has been a dream of mine. I can’t wait for new readers to discover Nilly’s adventures!”
Agent Daniel Herdman added:
“It’s thrilling to see the series with such an enthusiastic readership. We believe Absurd Ventures Press can bring Stormfell Academy to even more readers worldwide, beginning its international journey.”
Starting from the London Book Fair, this magical and adventurous world is quietly making its way into the sights of global readers.
